9. ‘ “EEA” shall mean the European Economic Area as defined in the Agreement on the European Economic Area concluded on 2 May 1992 between the European Community and its Member States and the Member States of the European Free Trade Association, as amended,’;

12. ‘Representative professional organisation’ shall mean any producer organisation or association of producer organisations having adopted the same rules, operating in a given or more wine designation of origin or geographical indication area(s) where it includes in its membership at least two thirds of the producers in the designation of origin or geographical indication area(s) in which it operates and accounts for at least two thirds of that areas’ production.
13. This programme covers a wide geographic area owing to the fact that the new Treaty of Accession was signed on 16 April 2003 and that the Agreement on the European Economic Area (EEA) provides for increased cooperation in the field of gender equality between the European Community and its Member States, on the one hand, and the countries of the European Free Trade Association (EFTA), on the other.
14. For the purpose of implementing this programme, in addition to cooperation covered by the Agreement on the European Economic Area or by an Association Agreement, it may be appropriate to engage in international cooperation activities, in particular on the basis of point h of Article 2, 101 and 102 of the Treaty, with third countries and international organisations.
15. The regulations governing use of a mark referred to in Article 66(2) must authorise any person whose goods or services originate in the geographical area concerned to become a member of the association which is the proprietor of the mark.
