- concerning the common organisation of the market in hops and repealing Regulations (EEC) No 1696/71, (EEC) No 1037/72, (EEC) No 879/73 and (EEC) No 1981/82
- Having regard to Council Regulation (EEC) No 1696/71 of 26 July 1971 on the common organisation of the market in hops [1], and in particular Article 5(2) thereof,
- Council Regulation (EEC) No 1696/71 of 26 July 1971 on the common organisation of the market in hops [3] has been substantially amended several times, in particular by Council Regulation (EC) No 1782/2003 of 29 September 2003 establishing common rules for direct support schemes under the common agricultural policy and establishing certain support schemes for farmers [4].
- Article 1 of Commission Regulation (EEC) No 1793/93 of 30 June 1993 regarding the operative event for the agricultural conversion rates used in the hops sector [6] provides that the exchange rate to be applied for the purposes of the aid for hops provided for in Article 12 of Council Regulation (EEC) No 1696/71 of 26 July 1971 on the common organisation of the market in hops [7] should be the average of the exchange rates applicable during the month before 1 July of the year of harvest, calculated pro rata temporis.
- Article 63(1) of Council Regulation (EC) No 73/2009 [3] which has established common rules for direct support schemes for farmers under the common agricultural policy as well as certain support schemes for farmers has integrated the partially coupled payments in the hops sector into the single payments scheme from 1 January 2010.
- Council Regulation (EC) No 1782/2003 of 29 September 2003 establishing common rules for direct support schemes under the common agricultural policy and establishing certain support schemes for farmers [9] provides for Member States to retain part of the component of national ceilings corresponding to the hops area payments and use them, in particular, to finance certain activities of recognised producer organisations.
- Council Regulation (EEC) No 1696/71 of 26 July 1971 on the common organisation of the market in hops [3] has been substantially amended several times, in particular by Council Regulation (EC) No 1782/2003 of 29 September 2003 establishing common rules for direct support schemes under the common agricultural policy and establishing certain support schemes for farmers [4]. For the sake of clarity, Regulation (EEC) No 1696/71 should be repealed and replaced.
- Having regard to Council Regulation (EC) No 1952/2005 of 23 November 2005 concerning the common organisation of the market in hops and repealing Regulations (EEC) No 1696/71, (EEC) No 1037/72, (EEC) No 879/73 and (EEC) No 1981/82 [1], and in particular Article 17 thereof,
